What It Means to Be Loving God Completely

We’ve been talking about the power of love in Pastor Brad’s current sermon series; how Godly love is essential incorporation in a true Christian life. God’s love is dynamic as opposed to a static expression. We see, feel, and use God’s love in different ways. He not only allows us to use His love; He asks us to use it to love others and love Him back. God has taught us to love through Jesus Christ so what does Jesus have to say about loving God in return?

In Matthew 22:34-40, a cornerstone of Christian teaching, calls us to love the Lord our God with every fiber of our being—our heart, soul, and mind. It's a directive that goes beyond mere affection, asking for a deep, abiding commitment that shapes our very existence.

But how often do we pause to consider the magnitude of this commandment? It's not just a Sunday reflection but a daily call to action. To love God with all our heart is to prioritize Him in our choices, to cherish His presence in our joys and sorrows. To love Him with all our soul is to seek a connection that transcends the physical, finding solace in the spiritual communion with our Creator. And to love Him with all our mind is to engage with His Word, to let His truths mold our thoughts and perspectives.

Living out this commandment is an exercise in devotion, a testament to our faith. It's seen in the kindness we extend to others, the integrity with which we conduct ourselves, and the relentless pursuit of a life that honors God. It's a love that is active, intentional, and all-consuming—a love that truly has the power to transform.
