"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." ~Matthew 19:14
As children, we held awe and wonder toward creation. Everything was new: the taste of food, the names of colors, the passing of time and seasons.
Sadly, as we grow older we tend to grow cynical about life. We get fed up with the cost of living, the fallibility of those in leadership, or "the way the world is heading."
How to Regain the Faith of a Child
One of the beautiful things about life in Christ is the transformation of our minds from frustration back to faith. We don't regain a child's mind (1 Cor. 13:11), but we can regain the faith of a child. The apostles, in this passage, were frustrated that children were "bothering" Jesus. Surely, they thought, He had more important things to do than deal with kids.
Jesus calls out that misplaced frustration directly. The kingdom of heaven belongs to the pure in heart, not the rational and reasonable. We, too, can regain the faith of a child if we surrender our hearts and minds to Jesus and choose to grow in His wisdom every day.
Always improve the present moment.
